Lent #15 – Japanese painting style

(not actually Japanese)

Squeaking this in at the eleventh hour.
Literally.

So, apparently here, I've managed to draw something that evokes the idea of traditional Japanese painting, without actually looking anything like traditional Japanese painting. Even remotely.

Oh, and that character in the upper left is purely a gimmick symbol that I completely made up without any prior research. Which I consider much safer than using a character that I think means something through half-assed research. Of course, either way, there's still a pretty good chance I'm offending somebody's mother.

In other news, I've decided to go back and start giving all these posts subtitles, so that people aren't forced to remember which ones they love and hate based on numbers.

[EDIT] In other other news, as of this post, I've now posted more sketches in the three months of 2009 than I posted in the ENTIRETY of 2007. Nice.
