Lent #30 - Oh The Hazards Of Love

Father don't you fear
Your children all are here.

The Decemberists – my opinion of whom is usually mild – have released an album called The Hazards of Love. And it is awesome. It's Old Skool high fantasy rock opera, with ballads and reprises and deliberately ambiguous narrative and ALL that shit. My favorite is the third movement of the title song (SUCH an homage to The Wall's naming conventions it's ridiculous). The song is sung entirely by a children's chorus, who are playing the part of the vengeful ghosts of The Rake's children, whom he murdered in cold blood earlier in the story. This one in particular was just so sweet, I had to do a sketch about it.
